No Session Tuesday

Martin Orlwosky, chairman, president, and CEO of Defendant Lorillard Tobacco Company, was originally scheduled to testify this week. He asked to reschedule, and DOJ acceded. However, because the Joint Defense did not have the time required by “Rule 471″ to prepare for the next witness, Dr. Farone, Tuesday’s session was canceled. (I will have more on the much-mentioned Rule 471 later)

Judge Kessler said about the canceled session, (paraphrasing), “I know there were legitimate reasons here, but this will be a long enough trial as it is. Let’s not have many more of these.”
