Dr. Biglan, currently Senior Scientist and Director, Center for Community Interventions on Childrearing, at the Oregon Research Institute (”ORI”), has been conducting research on adolescent smoking for over twenty-five years. At ORI, Dr. Biglan is responsible for directing research on adolescent smoking and other adolescent problem behaviors. Dr. Biglan has extensive experience developing and evaluating youth smoking prevention programs. He has written over 100 publications and has been awarded grants by the National Cancer Institute and National Institute on Drug Abuse. From September 2000 through June 2001, Dr. Biglan was a Fellow at Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Biglan has served as a Participant on the Behavior Change Expert Panel of the Office of White House National Drug Control Policy and as a grant reviewer for the National Institute of Drug Abuse Epidemiology and Prevention Review Committee. In addition, Dr. Biglan serves on the Board of the Society Prevention Research, and is the current President-Elect of the organization.
