Testimony of Victor J. DeNoble, II, Ph.D.

DeNoble, Victor

US Fact Witness

Dr. DeNoble, a Ph.D. in physiological psychology, was Project Leader of the Behavioral Pharmacology Laboratory at Philip Morris from 1980-1984. While there, he conducted (along with his lab partner, Paul Mele) research on nicotine and its analogues (chemical variants), including research on nicotine’s role as a behavioral reinforcer in rats. He was let go by Philip Morris in 1984. He testified about his work at Philip Morris at the Waxman subcommittee tobacco hearings in 1994. Since leaving Philip Morris in 1984, Dr. DeNoble has held the following positions:

–Vice President, Hissho Incorporated (a company specializing in scientific and medical communications);

–Senior Behavior Analyst with the Department of Mental Retardation at the Delaware State Department of Health and Social Services (dates uncertain)

–Research Associate, DuPont, Merck (dates uncertain)

Prior to working at Philip Morris, Dr. DeNoble was a research associate in the psychiatry research unit at the University of Minnesota in 1979.

    I have had the privilege of hearing Dr. DeNoble speak to classes of kids several times in the Sacramento, California area. He is very informative and keeps the attention of the kids.
    They are totally attentive to everything he says.

    If you have an opportunity to hear him speak, I highly recommend it.
