Next Up: Burns Tues., Gulson Wed. — LIVE

February 14, 2005 5:00 pm by Gene Borio

Tuesday morning the DOJ’s Elizabeth Crocker will spend about 1/2 hour on her redirect of Dr. Neil Weinstein.

Then we will hear arguments over BATAS’ (BAT Australia) stated intention to file objections on the admission of documents for Frederick Gulson.

Then Dr. David Burns will take the stand. There will be a 1-hour demonstrative presentation by the DOJ, after which the Defense expects a full 8 hour cross examination.

Mr. Gulson will be in town from Australia only for the 16th and 17th, so he will begin testimony Wednesday morning, interrupting Dr. Burns’ time on the stand. The Defense expects a 2-3 hour cross. Mr. Gulson may go all day Wednesday, possibly into Thursday.

Dr. Burns will probably be kept available only for Thursday to finish his testimony.

As for Judge Kessler’s schedule for tonight–well, based on the fact that the 4:30 cutoff for trial testimony was pointedly not waived today, that her hair seemed recently trimmed and done, and that I’ve never seen her nails looking so long and red, we might well be order in assuming her dinner reservations are someplace very nice.

Certainly no one said so out loud, but I’m sure in their hearts, everyone in Courtroom #19 wishes her a HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
