Burns, David M. M.D.
US Expert Witness
Dr. David M. Burns is a medical doctor and professor of medicine at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He is board certified in pulmonary medicine and internal medicine. After graduating from Harvard Medical School in 1972, Dr. Burns held numerous physician and teaching positions including those at Boston City Hospital, Emory University, and the University of California at San Diego. He has served as Scientific Editor for the Surgeon General's Report from 1980-1983, Senior Scientific Editor from 1984-1987, and Senior Reviewer from 1987 to present. Among his many other writing accomplishments, Dr. Burns has edited a series of monographs for the National Cancer Institute.
